2011 SEG Europe Honorary Lecture Tour

This Tuesday will mark the official kick-off for an amazing summer term 2011 for the Student Geophysical Society Berlin with many projects and activities. As the first and only SEG Student Chapter in Germany, we're proud hosts of the 2011 SEG Europe Honorary Lecture Tour sponsored by Shell. The Honorary Lecture Program of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists recognizes an individual's contributions to advancing the science and technology of geophysics, and encourages students by providing the opportunity to discuss scientific and career issues with a leading expert.

2011 SEG Europe Honorary Lecturer Lucy MacGregor is currently the chief technical officer of Rock Solid Images plc, and has been a leading researcher in CSEM and its application to the detection and characterization of fluids in the Earth for more than 16 years. As our president, I kindly invite every fellow student, geoscientist or blog follower of mine to come to our department and attend her lecture on:

Integrating well log, seismic, and CSEM data for reservoir characterization.

Yesterday was such an amazing day! Lucy MacGregor is not only an outstanding scientist, but also a lovely person. Her talk was very interesting and our student section members, faculty and some guests from the industry and academia enjoyed a wonderful dinner with her. This is a day to remember!
